An online e-mentoring system which supports ORIGIN, an African-centred, ‘Coming-into-Manhood’ Rites of Passage Programme that combines personal development and community guidance for young Men (13-18 years). The programme tackles real issues facing young Men and supports families to raise Sons.

The database system is web-based. enabling it to be accessed from anywhere. Entry to the system is controlled by individual user name and password. It has a range of user levels and privileges, and supports different views of the data depending on whether the user is a young man, parent, mentor or administrator. It includes a forum for exchange of views within a family/mentor group, with the user choosing which members of the group should view comments.

It is built on the Windows 2000 server platform, coded in ASP and using a SQL Server database at the back end.
